Baby Edwards {High River Okotoks Calgary Birth Photographer}

September 24, 2013 , Wedding

One of the most incredible moments I’ve had as a photographer took place early this morning. I photographed baby Edwards coming into the world. Back in March I received a message from Aliesha about photographing the birth of her third baby. We met over coffee and she told me all about her two sons and husband. This would be their last baby, so she wanted the delivery photographed.

Fast forward to a week ago and baby was late. So late, that an induction date and time were set for this morning at 8:30 a.m. at the High River Hospital (yes….that’s the hospital that flooded only a few months ago). We sent some messages back and forth over the last couple of days. The plan was for me to come to their house at 7 a.m. and then go with them to the hospital. Baby had other plans. The text came through at 2:55 a.m. “High Lori. I am going to the hospital to get checked. I have been having contractions every 5 minutes for an hour.”

Baby was on it’s way. When I arrived, Aliesha was in the shower and Eddy was waiting in the delivery room. At 6:35 a.m., Baby Edwards made his appearance. This is their story….
