Banff Elopement Packages
Banff is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. We host most of our elopements in the Banff National Park.
There are two locations we use. Lake Minnewanka is stunning and is a combination of big, bold mountains in your face, shimmering blue waters, and a lush, green forest. This is our favourite spot. You can have up to a 20-person elopement in this location. The cost here is $2000
If you wish to have up to 75 people, then we love Tunnel Mountain Reservoir. It’s right in the Town of Banff and the location is reserved privately for you and your guests for two hours. The cost here is $2500.
For up to 20 people
This stunning Banff location is where we host most of our elopements. Overlooking Lake Minnewanka with the majestic Rocky Mountains as your backdrop, it will take your breath away as you marry your love. Your elopement here will be outside, with nature surrounding you. It’s the perfect mix of water, mountains, and evergreen trees. Bring up to 18 guests with you to celebrate as you say your vows.
If it rains, we photograph in the rain 🙂 Banff elopements go ahead rain or shine in the outdoors.
These are standing-only ceremonies as we are in a National Park and cannot reserve spots or set up decor or ceremony chairs (lawn chairs are fine though). Want to see some photos of the ceremony spot and portraits? Click here.
Your package includes your Alberta marriage commissioner, our photographer, and the licenses/permits to be in the Banff National Park. Approximately 10 minutes of your package will be photographing your ceremony with the remaining 50 minutes for photos of the two of you and any guest group photos you may want.
TUNNEL MOUNTAIN RESERVOIR
For up to 75 people
Do you have a guest list of more than 20 people, but still want the mountain experience at a low cost? We get it. Your people are important and you don’t want to exclude anyone. You may also not want to spend a small fortune on a Banff wedding. This is the perfect package for you!
Tunnel Mountain Reservoir is the perfect choice for a private ceremony with street parking. Situated inside the Town of Banff, it has street parking for your guests and with Buffalo Mountain Lodge right across the street, it’s perfect to just walk over for your ceremony if you choose to rent hotel rooms there. Tunnel Mountain Campground is also close by for those of you wishing to bring RVs.
The beauty of Tunnel Mountain is that you are also able to have a full ceremony set up if you wish. You can rent chairs and decor (as pictured) and have a seated ceremony, unlike the other mountain locations. The cost of renting chairs, an arch, or any decor is extra. You can also have a standing and simple ceremony as well, without any rentals.
The $2500 cost includes everything in our normal elopement package, plus the insurance, and rental of Tunnel Mountain for two hours (this costs $500…thus the higher price) and we are there to set up and take down if you have chairs, etc.
Approximately 15 minutes of your package will be photographing your ceremony with the remaining 45 minutes for photos with your guests and the two of you.
• How many people can we bring? Are kids included in the count?
At Lake Minnewanka you can have up to 20 people. This is a National Park rule for guest numbers and kids are included in this count. We often are asked if more people can attend, but the maximum is 20.
At Tunnel Mountain Reservoir you can have up to 75 people. Kids are included as well.
• What is the option for rain?
We guarantee at least three clear umbrellas for the couple and the officiant to use. This way the photos look cohesive and amazing. Weddings go ahead rain or shine. There is not an indoor option for these locations.
• Can we serve alcohol?
No. Although we do allow for fun champagne pops for photos with the couple.
• What dates are available?
Year-round. Keep in mind that Tunnel Mountain Reservoir books up very quickly for Saturdays from May-October, so you will need to be looking at least a year in advance to secure those prime dates.
• Why is insurance needed at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir?
The Town of Banff requires proof of wedding liability insurance in order to have your wedding at Tunnel Mountain. We pay for and provide this to the Town on your behalf.
• Do you have recommendations for accommodation?
Absolutely! We can help you with all of this after you book and we begin to plan your celebration! What we can say is that if you are looking at a June-September wedding, book ASAP. Hotels and AirBnBs book up early during those prime tourist months.
• Can we bring dogs?
Yes. As long as they are on a leash the entire time.
• Can we go to multiple locations for photos?
Because our photography packages are an hour-long, we have to stay at the spot your ceremony is being held. We want to make sure you get as many incredible photos as we can take, and driving to another location will eat up photography time. Trust us, both locations are amazing and you will love the images you receive.
• Is decor included?
At Lake Minnewanka, we use nature as our backdrop and our ceremonies are standing only. Because they are short and simple, it makes sense to focus on the vows and the incredible views the area has to offer.
At Tunnel Mountain, you are more than welcome to rent chairs, an arch, decor, etc. We have a few companies that we love to recommend and they all offer delivery and pickup options, making it easy for you.
• Banff National Park Pass
Everyone who enters a National Park in Canada must pay for a park pass. Banff National Park is the same. The entrance to the National Park is just after you pass the town of Canmore and you and your guests are responsible for this cost. You can purchase in advance online, or at the gates when you enter Banff National Park. Prices range from $10.50/adult to $21/family.
