For up to 10 people

Dates we host elopements at Moraine Lake: June to mid-October on Monday to Thursdays. (It’s closed in the winter and we don’t go there on weekends oo in July and August due to the sheer volume of tourists in the area)

You haven’t lived life until you’ve been to Moraine Lake. It’s simply stunning.

Your elopement here involves a 5-minute hike up to our ceremony spot (NOT good for anyone with mobility issues or people who would have trouble climbing steps up a mountain). Due to the limited space at the ceremony spot, we limit the numbers to 10 people (including the two of you) if you choose to have your Shotgun Wedding here. We try to keep it as private as possible, but cannot guarantee that there will be no other tourists around.

Your package includes your Alberta marriage commissioner, our photographer, and the licenses to be at Moraine Lake. Approximately 10 minutes of your package will be photographing your ceremony with the remaining 50 minutes for photos of the two of you and any guest group photos you may want.

Check out our NEW custom-designed .925 sterling silver necklaces we commissioned to feature the Valley of the Ten Peaks at Moraine Lake. It is the perfect wedding, anniversary, Christmas or guest gift.

• How many people can we bring? Are kids included in the count?

You can have up to 10 people in this location (this includes the two of you, the wedding party, children, etc).

• What is the option for rain?

We guarantee at least three clear umbrellas for the couple and the officiant to use. This way the photos look cohesive and amazing. Weddings go ahead rain or shine. There is not an indoor option for Moraine Lake

• What dates are available?

Moraine Lake opens June 1st and remains open until Thanksgiving weekend in October. It closes for all other months. We will host elopements at Moraine Lake in June, September, and October and only on Monday to Thursday. We stay away from the area in July-August and on weekends due to the sheer volume of tourists during those times.

• Is this location good for strollers and wheelchairs?

No. If anyone has mobility issues or cannot walk about five minutes up a rocky hill, then this is not the location for you.

• Can we arrive separately and not see each other before the ceremony?

Unfortunately not in this location. It's the hardest spot logistically to elope in (but the most beautiful) and there is no cell service to be in touch with people. Couples and their guests need to arrive together for a Moraine Lake Elopement.

• How is parking at Moraine Lake

Private vehicles are not allowed up to Moraine Lake (unless you are staying at the Moraine Lake Lodge). The only way to have your elopement at Moraine Lake is to hire private transport (limo, taxi, bus, etc) or to take the Shuttle from Lake Louise.

• Do you have recommendations for accommodation?

Absolutely! We can help you with all of this after you book and we begin to plan your celebration! We suggest you stay at Lake Louise, as it's the closest area to Moraine Lake...or at the Moraine Lake Lodge.

• Can we have decor or an arch?

At Moraine Lake, we use nature as our backdrop and our ceremonies are standing only. Because they are short and simple, it makes sense to focus on the vows and the incredible views the area has to offer. We do not allow decor or arches at this location.

• Banff National Park Pass

Everyone who enters a National Park in Canada must pay for a park pass. Banff National Park is the same. The entrance to the National Park is just after you pass the town of Canmore and you and your guests are responsible for this cost. You can purchase in advance online, or at the gates when you enter Banff National Park. Prices range from $10.50/adult to $21/family.
