The “You’ll wear it again” parade float
How many times have you been a bridesmaid and been told by the bride that “you’ll wear it again,” when she picks out your dress? All you have to do is shorten/lengthen/dye it/cut the sleeves/take off the bow….etc etc.
Or do you have that old wedding dress sitting in your closest/basement/garage/garbage bag and wonder what to do with it?
Or you slayed a few dragons before you got to the prince and have a trashed dress that you want to let off some steam with…
Found that cool vintage gown at a thift store and promised yourself you would do something with it?

Or have your grandmother’s wedding gown our your mother’s Princess Di inspired smock and giant headpiece that you’ve been aching to dress up in?
Or your old royal blue velvet graduation gown with the matching velvet shoes that your daughter fits into?
Or that amazing 1970’s western suit that your grandfather wore to every formal event for four decades.
Or….you just want an excuse to dress up funky and be in a parade with fun music and other people who want to play dress-up with you?
I’ve been talking about doing this for years. 2025 is my year. The town of Nanton has their annual parade the Monday of the August Long Weekend. Join Shotgun Wedding on Monday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Nanton, sporting your best, and most attire and join Shotgun Wedding in their parade entry.
I’ll be wearing my wedding dress from 2010….complete with bird case facinator.
There will be prizes. Because who doesn’t love prizes. Each winner will receive a free 15 minute mini photo session in the Town of Nanton (sorry – not able to travel beyond Nanton for this) on a date of their choosing. Lori Loree will judge.
- Best bridal gown
- Best flower girl or ring bearer
- Best bridesmaid dress
- Best suit
- Funniest outfit
- Best graduation/prom dress

Everyone who is part of our float will receive a couple free professional photos of you in your outfit either just before or just after the parade ends.
There will also be candy….
We have a sign-up form for if you are interested. No obligation to be a part of the parade if you fill it out. It will just give me a bit of insight into interest: CLICK HERE FOR THE GOOGLE FORM
