5 Reasons Why the Coutts Centre Is the Ideal Venue for Your Small Wedding

If you’re looking for a private venue to host your small wedding, the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage, just south of Calgary should be at the top of your list! We’ve been photographing weddings at the venue since it was just a small farm….a far cry from the pristine, world-class event space that it is today. It was pretty easy coming up with 5 Reasons Why the Coutts Centre Is the Ideal Venue for Your Small Wedding considering we’ve been part of their history for over 13 years.

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, so you want everything to be perfect. The venue is a big part of that, and the Coutts Centre is the ideal place for a small, intimate wedding. Here are 5 reasons why:

1. The Coutts Centre is located just south of Calgary is the most beautiful, private space for you and your guests. The space is reserved for either one-hour for our standard package or for four hours with the Garden Party Package. Your booking means that it’s private for you and your guests.

2. The Coutts Centre can accommodate between 30 and 50 guests (depending on your package), making it the perfect size for a small wedding, but yet allow you to have your favourite people as part of your day. The below photo is a reception set up for a couple that had their Garden Party with Shotgun Wedding.

3. There are indoor and undercover options in case of rain. There is a giant gazebo to have the ceremony under that still gives the outdoor space, but allows for cover from the elements. The Coutts Centre is the only one of our locations that offers this.

4. Chairs, an arch and a PA system are provided as part of all the packages. Having chairs for your guests to sit is amazing….and even better when you don’t have to pay extra for them! There is also an arch and a PA system for your music. The Shotgun Wedding team will either play a fabulous light music selection on the PA system to great your guests and welcome them into the space. If you have a playlist that you would like to provide us that suits your style, we welcome that as well.

5. The gardens are nothing short of stunning. It’s a kaleidoscope of colours for your photos. Depending on the time of year your wedding is, you can have roses, poppies, sunflowers, lavender, and the stunning fall colours in autumn.
